(Piano, Music Production)

Anna is a recent Bachelor’s graduate from Stony Brook University with a major in Astronomy and a minor in Music Theory. She has been performing piano individually since the age of four and is classically trained, but also has experience with jazz, pop and electronic music. Anna has been teaching privately and through various music schools in the Westchester area for the past 6 years.

Anna has extensive performance knowledge from performing individually and within chamber groups for piano, as well as performing in orchestras as a violist. Having struggled with severe stage fright herself, Anna understands the stress and nerves that may result from her students performing in front of others and works with them to overcome it should they be interested in performing. Additionally, Anna has experience with the NYSSMA curriculum and is able to instruct students according to the NYSSMA guidelines.

Lessons with Anna will be primarily focused on helping students find their own passion toward music, and she does so by introducing her students to multiple musical genres and giving her students the freedom to choose their repertoire. Anna’s primary goal is to create a welcoming and exciting learning environment for her students, as well as ensuring her students leave every lesson with more knowledge than they came in with. Anna places an equal emphasis on music theory, sight-reading, and composition.

Composer/musician/band you’d most want to have dinner with… Amy Winehouse. She is extremely talented and her music has always been an inspiration of mine.

If I were stuck on an elevator and If you were stuck on an elevator and had to listen to one song forever, what would it be… I would have to choose a long, classical song. I’m not sure exactly what, but Chopin is one of my favorite composers and he tends to make long pieces, so probably something from him.

Music is…the only form of art that is intangible and still has the ability to make people feel intensely.
